Release date: 16th January 2012

After fronting the Sex Pistols John Lydon formed post-punk originators Public Image Ltd in 1978. "PiL" continued until 1992 with an ever-changing line-up and unique sound which saw them fuse Rock, Dance, Folk, Pop and Dub. Widely regarded as one of the most innovative bands of all time their music and vision earned them 5 UK Top 20 Singles and 5 UK Top 20 Albums. Lydon resurrected the band in 2009 and they are set to release a new studio album in 2012.

Now, their back catalogue has undergone the remastering treatment and is presented exactly as the albums were originally released on CD. John Lydon guided the band through their musical journey from their eponymous debut (UK No 22) in 1978 to That What Is Not (UK No 46) in 1992. Every chord, wail, bass pluck and drum hit in-between are presented here newly remastered including: Public Image, Compact Disc, Flowers Of Romance, This Is What You Want...This Is What You Get, Happy?, 9 and That What Is Not.

As well as their studio album collection - minus Metal Box which was remastered and re-issued in a metal tin in 2009 and then re-issued as Second Edition in 2011 - also included in this remaster series are the legendary live albums, Live In Tokyo and Paris In The Spring (both of which capture PiL at their most energetic and committed), as well as their first compilation The Greatest Hits So Far, which was the only record to feature the single 'Don’t Ask Me’ (UK No 22). Finally the series is completed by a remaster of the cult 1997 John Lydon solo album Psycho’s Path.In all the Public Image Limited remaster series offers a fresh and clearer view into the output of one of the UK’s most important and influential bands.
