GLOBAL SUPERSTAR LENNY KRAVITZ TO PLAY FIRST F1 ROCKSTM EVENT IN 2012 IN AUSTRALIA

F1 RocksTM the series of global live music events staged alongside Formula OneTM races in partnership with McManus Entertainment, Australia and in association with the Formula 1TM Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne, is very proud to announce that global superstar Lenny Kravitz will kick off the Formula One 2012 season by performing his first ever F1 RocksTM in Melbourne concerts in Australia for two nights at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March 2012.

In his first Australian tour in 18 years, Lenny Kravitz will be supported by Irish band The Cranberries and Australia’s own Indie-Rockers Wolfmother. The event will provide a perfect frame for the first Formula 1TM race of the season – held at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit from 15th-18th March 2012.

Kravitz, the multi-award winning American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer, has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide since his landmark debut album 'Let Love Rule’ in 1989. Kravitz, known for his elaborate stage performances has written many memorable songs including 'Are You Gonna Go My Way’, 'Fly Away’ and 'It Ain’t Over Till It’s Over’, amongst many others. His most recent album 'Black and White America’ was released in the Summer of 2011.

Irish rock band The Cranberries, fronted by singer Dolores O’Riordan, can count themselves as one of the most successful rock acts of the 90’s, selling over 15 million albums in the United States alone. Their debut album 'Everybody’s Doing It, So Why Can’t we?’ was a huge commercial success for the band, earning them fans worldwide. Their forthcoming album 'Roses’ will be released in February 2012.

Critically acclaimed Sydney based indie-rockers Wolfmother burst onto the international rock scene in 2005 with their self-titled debut album. Since then the band has accumulated many awards, including a Grammy for 'Best Hard Rock Performance’ in 2007.
'F1 Rocks in Melbourne’ will produce various TV packages to be distributed to international broadcasters and local networks to a global TV audience of in excess of 50 Million viewers in over 120 territories worldwide. The packages will offer a glamorous fast paced mix of entertainment, sport, fashion, celebrity and lifestyle, including live performances from the F1 RocksTM stage.
